Jean-Jacques Degroof serves as an Affiliate Researcher at Industrial Performance Center, part of the School of Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In this position, Jean-Jacques Degroof focuses on local innovation and entrepreneurship, specifically academic spin offs. Jean-Jacques Degroof earned a Master of Science and Doctorate in Management at MIT after studying at the Catholic University of Louvain in his native Belgium. There, Jean-Jacques Degroof received a Bachelor�s degree in Business Administration and a Master�s degree in Labor Studies.

Throughout his career in academia, Jean-Jacques Degroof has written a articles for scholarly journals. In 2001, Jean-Jacques Degroof wrote a paper on growth patterns of European spin-offs for publication in Science, Technology and Industry Review. Three years later, Jean-Jacques Degroof penned an article for The Journal of Technology Transfer titled �Overcoming Weak Entrepreneurial Infrastructure for Academic Spin-Off Ventures.� Jean-Jacques Degroof has also spoken at a number of conferences, seminars, and workshops, both within the United States and abroad.

As an investor, Jean-Jacques Degroof was one of the founding members of Hub Angels Investment Group, LLC, a successful Boston-based angel investing group. Jean-Jacques Degroof also invests privately in new ventures and served as board member for Forerun, Inc., a firm that provides clinical information software to hospital�s emergency departments.
